Las Vegas Raiders

The Raiders robbed the room for Taylor. Final grade: A.

This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Roc Taylor, the No. 189 name on the board, stolen at the Round 7 slot. This is how you run a draft, and the A reflects it.

They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up. Jordan Addison gives the group a proven body among the projects.

They left with cornerback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

Bottom line, with Walter Nolen leading the way, this is a class that should pay off fast and rarely be regretted.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.24 · Pick 24 · Walter Nolen · DT · rank 19
They did well to land Walter Nolen in Round 1, Pick 24, just ahead of his grade. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
R2.5 · Pick 37 · Shavon Revel Jr. · CB · rank 26
Nice patience on Shavon Revel Jr., who had no business lasting to the 37th overall pick. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
R3.4 · Pick 68 · TreVeyon Henderson · RB · rank 55
A slide stopped in the Round 3 slot, with TreVeyon Henderson worth more than the price. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
R3.17 · Pick 81 · Jayden Higgins · WR · rank 68
Jayden Higgins slipping to pick 81 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
R4.6 · Pick 107 · Carson Schwesinger · LB · rank 83
A top-tier linebacker at a bargain, Carson Schwesinger in No. 107, plain and simple. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
R5.5 · Pick 144 · Kyle McCord · QB · rank 120
You do not let a quarterback like Kyle McCord reach slot 144 and blink. They did not. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
R6.4 · Pick 182 · Jaylen Reed · S · rank 179
Fair-plus on Jaylen Reed, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
R6.40 · Pick 218 · Carson Vinson · OT · rank 216
No edge and no loss on Carson Vinson in the 218th pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
R7.6 · Pick 224 · Roc Taylor · WR · rank 189
Roc Taylor in pick 224 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
