The Raiders spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: TreVeyon Henderson, the No. 55 name on the board, in the Round 5 slot. Fine in stretches, shaky in others: a C+.
They will need Uiagalelei to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. Everything downstream of Shedeur Sanders depends on Shedeur Sanders, and the building knows it. They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it.
The verdict is a shrug for now, with the swing picks left to write the real ending.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 3 they get a long-term answer under center. A clean fit for the roster.
Benjamin Morrison at the 37th pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Xavier Restrepo in the 73rd pick is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Savion Williams in pick No. 106 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
They robbed the room for TreVeyon Henderson here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
They will replay Brashard Smith at slot 178 for years; that is how good the value is. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Upton Stout at the Round 6 slot is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Value said wait; DJ Uiagalelei in the 216th overall pick says they were not listening. The roster fit checks out.
Elijhah Badger at No. 222 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
