The Raiders put a flag in the ground for Jordan Jefferson, 35 picks before anyone else would have, and the value took the hit. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B+.
They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. That is a linebacker worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly.
They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it.
Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 30th pick they get a building block for the line. The biggest hole, addressed.
Kamari Lassiter at the Round 2 slot is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the cornerback. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Jonathon Brooks in the 48th overall pick is fair value, right on his grade. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Edgerrin Cooper at No. 56 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Austin Booker in pick No. 77 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Value with a capital V on Jalen McMillan in slot 112, a genuine coup. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Jordan Jefferson. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Trente Jones in the 208th overall pick. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Erick All is a better player than the 212th pick suggests; smart patience, rewarded. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
A top-tier linebacker at a bargain, Curtis Jacobs in Round 7, Pick 3, plain and simple. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
They went early on Josh Proctor in the Round 7 slot, and the value did not follow. It adds depth where they could use a little.
