Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Cam Skattebo got past him. The Raiders do not have to explain a thing at the Round 6 slot. The bottom line is a respectable B.
Griffith has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. The whole projection now runs through Jalen Milroe; hit there and everything else looks smarter.
They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. Small wins on the phones, but wins all the same.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 13 they get a No. 1 receiver. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
In Round 1, Pick 29 they get the arm they will build around, a steep price for the projection. A real need, handled.
Kaleb Johnson at Round 2, Pick 12 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. A need, and now a little less of one.
They robbed the room for Xavier Watts here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Rylie Mills in No. 106 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Danny Stutsman in slot 146 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
They reached into another round for Ricky White III, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Rod Moore at pick 170 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
Circle this one: Cam Skattebo at pick No. 209 is a fall that decides a draft. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Nothing to complain about; Miles Frazier went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
A big swing on Thor Griffith at Round 6, Pick 41, well ahead of any board in the building. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Nohl Williams in slot 223 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
