The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Eagles watched Jabbar Muhammad slide 32 picks past his grade and did not hesitate. The bottom line is a respectable B.
The interior defensive lineman spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. The Schrader reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade.
They left with cornerback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off. The hoard sets up next April more than it helps this September.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the interior defensive lineman spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
Nice patience on Tyler Nubin, who had no business lasting to Round 2, Pick 18. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
A clean, defensible pick in the 55th overall pick with a little surplus value in Kris Jenkins. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Denzel Burke slipping to No. 60 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Mike Sainristil in slot 86 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Jalen McMillan in the Round 4 slot is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Donovan Jackson at pick No. 128 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the offensive lineman. It fills a real need, too.
No drama and no debate, Cole Bishop went about where he belonged in the 137th pick. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Cody Schrader in pick 156 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
A slide stopped in pick 172, with Malik Washington worth more than the price. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Jaylen Wright at the 175th pick is money in the bank, a running back taken below his worth. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
A tidy little value on LaDarius Henderson in pick No. 177, a step better than break-even. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
You do not let a wide receiver like Moose Muhammad III reach No. 178 and blink. They did not. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
J. Michael Sturdivant in the 186th overall pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
A cornerback of that caliber at Round 7, Pick 15 is the definition of value, full stop. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Isaiah Williams at the Round 7 slot is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Steal is underselling it; Omar Speights at slot 245 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Nothing to complain about; Darius Muasau went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
By-the-book stuff, Zion Nelson at slot 249 squarely in line with his ranking. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
