Good, not great, for the Raiders: B+.

Nobody else had Eyabi Okie-Anoma anywhere near the 208th pick. The Raiders did, by 77 spots, and that gap is the whole story.

Landing Wiley that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. The interior defensive lineman hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Small wins on the phones, but wins all the same.

Jadeveon Clowney gives the group a proven body among the projects.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but interior defensive lineman.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.30 · Pick 30 · Tyler Guyton · OT · rank 28
They took Tyler Guyton at par in pick No. 30, which is nothing to complain about. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
R2.13 · Pick 45 · Chris Braswell · LB-EDGE · rank 44
They paid sticker price for Chris Braswell in the 45th overall pick, and that is fine. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
R3.13 · Pick 77 · Spencer Rattler · QB · rank 117
They reached into another round for Spencer Rattler, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
R3.30 · Pick 93 · Blake Corum · RB · rank 84
Blake Corum slipping to the Round 3 slot is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
R4.12 · Pick 112 · Andru Phillips · CB · rank 102
A slide stopped in the 112th pick, with Andru Phillips worth more than the price. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
R4.36 · Pick 136 · Luke McCaffrey · WR · rank 149
They jumped the gun on Luke McCaffrey, taking him earlier than his grade liked. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
R5.14 · Pick 150 · Trevor Keegan · OG · rank 144
A tidy little value on Trevor Keegan in the Round 5 slot, a step better than break-even. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
R5.29 · Pick 165 · Tykee Smith · S · rank 160
Tykee Smith at the 165th pick is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the safety. A minor itch, scratched.
R5.39 · Pick 175 · Ty'Ron Hopper · LB · rank 181
A market-rate linebacker, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Ty'Ron Hopper. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
R6.33 · Pick 208 · Eyabi Okie-Anoma · DL-EDGE · rank 285
Eyabi Okie-Anoma in Round 6, Pick 33 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
R7.9 · Pick 229 · Jared Wiley · TE · rank 206
Jared Wiley in the 229th overall pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A need, and now a little less of one.
