Whoever sat across the table from the Raiders should ask for a receipt. They cleaned the room out, prying loose far more value than they gave up, and it was the quiet MVP of their weekend.
Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Flournoy. That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Corum has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.
The Rob Havenstein pickup adds a known quantity to a class of unknowns.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 19th overall pick they get a sticky cover corner. Exactly the need they had to hit.
T'Vondre Sweat in Round 2, Pick 12 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Fair-plus on Junior Colson, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. A minor itch, scratched.
They paid a round early for Blake Corum in slot 77, more than the board wanted. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Spencer Rattler in the 112th pick is fair value, right on his grade. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Value with a capital V on Christian Jones in pick 148, a genuine coup. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Somehow Cornelius Johnson was still sitting there in the 208th overall pick, and they pounced on premier wide receiver value. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Nothing to complain about; Garret Greenfield went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
They barely believed it either: Ryan Flournoy still on the board at pick 229. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
