After circling the position for what felt like forever, the Vikings committed. Bo Nix is the quarterback now, and the roster gets built to his timeline. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B+.
The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend. The safety spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
The veteran additions, DeMarcus Lawrence chief among them, give the class a floor the rookies alone would not.
Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 19th pick they get their quarterback of the future. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Byron Murphy II in pick 39 is fair value, right on his grade. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
They did well to land Quinyon Mitchell in the 42nd overall pick, just ahead of his grade. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
They took Chop Robinson at par in slot 44, which is nothing to complain about. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Javion Cohen at Round 5, Pick 25 is the proof. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Edefuan Ulofoshio in the Round 5 slot. A minor itch, scratched.
