The Raiders did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Kyle McCord fell into the Round 6 slot.

For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain. The Stutsman pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with edge rusher and offensive lineman still on the board. The Porter reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade.

A modest surplus at the table, banked quietly.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.21 · Pick 21 · Emeka Egbuka · WR · rank 25
In Round 1, Pick 21 they get a weapon on the perimeter. Exactly the need they had to hit.
R1.25 · Pick 25 · Omarion Hampton · RB · rank 32
They took Omarion Hampton at par in the 25th pick, which is nothing to complain about. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
R2.1 · Pick 33 · Walter Nolen · DT · rank 19
Walter Nolen at the Round 2 slot is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
R2.5 · Pick 37 · Jihaad Campbell · LB · rank 41
Jihaad Campbell in pick 37 is fair value, right on his grade. It adds depth where they could use a little.
R2.26 · Pick 58 · TreVeyon Henderson · RB · rank 55
TreVeyon Henderson in slot 58 lands just on the right side of the ledger. The roster fit checks out.
R3.4 · Pick 68 · Darien Porter · CB · rank 76
A reach for Darien Porter in pick No. 68; a little patience would have been rewarded. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
R3.26 · Pick 90 · Danny Stutsman · LB · rank 86
They bypassed pressing needs at edge rusher and offensive lineman to take Danny Stutsman, a linebacker that was not the priority.
R4.6 · Pick 107 · Jalen Milroe · QB · rank 95
A slide stopped in the 107th overall pick, with Jalen Milroe worth more than the price. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
R5.5 · Pick 144 · Billy Bowman Jr. · S · rank 116
Billy Bowman Jr. in the Round 5 slot is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
R6.4 · Pick 182 · Oronde Gadsden II · TE · rank 180
No edge and no loss on Oronde Gadsden II in Round 6, Pick 4; it is a wash and a sensible one. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
R6.26 · Pick 204 · Kyle McCord · QB · rank 120
Kyle McCord in pick No. 204 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
R6.36 · Pick 214 · JJ Pegues · DT · rank 176
Taking JJ Pegues in the 214th pick is close to grand larceny; an interior defensive lineman that good had no business lasting this long. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
R6.40 · Pick 218 · Quincy Riley · CB · rank 171
They will replay Quincy Riley at No. 218 for years; that is how good the value is. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
