The Raiders treated their own grade as gospel and everyone else's as noise, spending the Round 7 slot on Malcolm Greene a full 146 spots early. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.
Everything downstream of Shedeur Sanders depends on Shedeur Sanders, and the building knows it. If one pick saves this weekend, it is Fannin Jr.. Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck.
That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
A straight-up fair deal on Shedeur Sanders at slot 1, value and slot in agreement. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Harold Fannin Jr. at pick 68 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It fills a real need, too.
Mason Taylor in the 73rd pick is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. A need, and now a little less of one.
Roc Taylor in the Round 4 slot is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Steal is underselling it; Kyren Lacy at No. 142 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
This one needs a full-page explanation: Marcus Dumervil in pick No. 178, miles early. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Gino Garcia at pick No. 212 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
A big swing on Bryson Nesbit at the 216th pick, well ahead of any board in the building. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
They reached into another round for Malcolm Greene, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
