Las Vegas Raiders

The Raiders let Lambert-Smith fall and pounced. Final grade: C.

This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: KeAndre Lambert-Smith, the No. 186 name on the board, stolen at No. 218.

The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close. For all the activity, offensive lineman went untouched, which is hard to explain.

Every board in the league had Porter lower, and that gap is the story.

If Shemar Stewart and a couple of the gambles land, hindsight will be kinder than this grade.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.20 · Pick 20 · Shemar Stewart · DE-EDGE · rank 15
In pick 20 they get a bendy edge with upside. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
R1.21 · Pick 21 · Kenneth Grant · DT · rank 21
In No. 21 they get a pocket-collapsing interior rusher at fair value. A real need, handled.
R2.5 · Pick 37 · Emeka Egbuka · WR · rank 24
Emeka Egbuka slipping to the 37th pick is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
R2.19 · Pick 51 · TreVeyon Henderson · RB · rank 55
TreVeyon Henderson in slot 51 is fair value, right on his grade. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
R3.4 · Pick 68 · Darien Porter · CB · rank 78
Darien Porter at the 68th overall pick is a conviction pick that outran the value. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
R3.9 · Pick 73 · Jayden Higgins · WR · rank 72
No drama and no debate, Jayden Higgins went about where he belonged in pick No. 73. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
R3.21 · Pick 85 · Quinshon Judkins · RB · rank 70
They let Quinshon Judkins come to them and pounced at Round 3, Pick 21. The roster fit checks out.
R4.6 · Pick 107 · Will Howard · QB · rank 107
A straight-up fair deal on Will Howard at the Round 4 slot, value and slot in agreement. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
R5.5 · Pick 144 · Bhayshul Tuten · RB · rank 153
They jumped the gun on Bhayshul Tuten, taking him earlier than his grade liked. It fills a real need, too.
R6.4 · Pick 182 · Oronde Gadsden II · TE · rank 180
Oronde Gadsden II at slot 182 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
R6.15 · Pick 193 · Roc Taylor · WR · rank 189
Roc Taylor at pick No. 193 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the wide receiver. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
R6.21 · Pick 199 · Jordan Hancock · S · rank 195
A clean, defensible pick in pick 199 with a little surplus value in Jordan Hancock. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
R6.36 · Pick 214 · Luke Lachey · TE · rank 190
A tight end of that caliber at the 214th pick is the definition of value, full stop. A need, and now a little less of one.
R6.40 · Pick 218 · KeAndre Lambert-Smith · WR · rank 186
They barely believed it either: KeAndre Lambert-Smith still on the board at No. 218. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
