Philadelphia Eagles

The Eagles lost the trade table, and the B- tells the story.

Future A+

Somebody took the Eagles to the cleaners. The deals they made bled real value, and the whole class wears it. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.

They will need Robinson to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. That is a wide receiver worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. The roster is better shaped than it was, with cornerback chief among the fixes.

It is a bet on later, and a defensible one for a team playing the long game.

A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.

Pick-by-Pick

R2.31 · Pick 63 · Kiran Amegadjie · OT · rank 52
Kiran Amegadjie in the 63rd overall pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
R3.3 · Pick 67 · Trey Benson · RB · rank 68
They took Trey Benson at par in the Round 3 slot, which is nothing to complain about. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
R3.31 · Pick 94 · Khyree Jackson · CB · rank 105
A reach for Khyree Jackson in the 94th pick; a little patience would have been rewarded. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
R3.34 · Pick 97 · Leonard Taylor III · DL · rank 113
They jumped the gun on Leonard Taylor III, taking him earlier than his grade liked. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
R4.1 · Pick 101 · Darius Robinson · DL-EDGE · rank 121
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Darius Robinson well ahead of where he belonged. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
R4.14 · Pick 114 · Cole Bishop · S · rank 130
A reach on Cole Bishop in pick 114; the board had better options right there. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
R5.24 · Pick 160 · Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint · WR · rank 148
Nice patience on Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint, who had no business lasting to Round 5, Pick 24. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
R5.34 · Pick 170 · Joe Milton III · QB · rank 171
By-the-book stuff, Joe Milton III at pick No. 170 squarely in line with his ranking. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
R5.35 · Pick 171 · Jaylen Wright · RB · rank 163
Jaylen Wright at No. 171 is money in the bank, a running back taken below his worth. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
R6.1 · Pick 176 · Javon Baker · WR · rank 186
A premium they did not need to pay, Javon Baker a notch or two before his time. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
R6.3 · Pick 178 · Roger Rosengarten · OT · rank 179
Roger Rosengarten in the Round 6 slot is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
R6.39 · Pick 214 · Austin Stogner · TE · rank 210
Austin Stogner at the 214th pick is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the tight end. The roster fit checks out.
