The board owed the Eagles one, and it paid up: Cam Skattebo, the No. 114 name on the board, sitting there at pick 164 like a gift left on the doorstep. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B-.
If Ezeiruaku pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. They will regret leaving cornerback for another day if the season turns on it. Edge rusher was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 31 they get a double-digit-sack hope, a steep price for the projection. The biggest hole, addressed.
They paid up for Omarr Norman-Lott at the 63rd pick when waiting would have done the job. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Taking Demetrius Knight Jr. in Round 3, Pick 31 is close to grand larceny; a linebacker that good had no business lasting this long. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
A top-tier offensive lineman at a bargain, Jake Majors in slot 128, plain and simple. It fills a real need, too.
They talked themselves into Luke Lachey at the 160th overall pick, and the board did not agree. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Cam Skattebo at pick 164 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
They barely believed it either: Jeffrey Bassa still on the board at No. 166. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
