Start where it matters. The Raiders took Shedeur Sanders to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one. More right than wrong, and a B to match.
The Sanders reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. The Jones Jr. steal is the beam this whole class leans on. They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it.
They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 6 they get a passer to set the clock by. A clean fit for the roster.
Luther Burden III at the Round 2 slot is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
You do not let a running back like Kaleb Johnson reach pick No. 68 and blink. They did not. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Alfred Collins slid further than he should have, and the 73rd pick is lovely value for the interior defensive lineman. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Value with a capital V on Savion Williams in the 107th overall pick, a genuine coup. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Jalen Milroe in Round 5, Pick 5 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
The board fumbled Emery Jones Jr. all the way to slot 182, and they scooped it up. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
They jumped the gun on Trevor Etienne, taking him earlier than his grade liked. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
This one needs a full-page explanation: Shilo Sanders in Round 6, Pick 40, miles early. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
They barely believed it either: Upton Stout still on the board at pick No. 224. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
