When the story of this class is written, it opens with Taulia Tagovailoa at the Round 7 slot, a reach of 152 spots that the board flatly disagrees with. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.
That Jackson pick is the receipt they will wave around later. Leaving running back unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Small wins on the phones, but wins all the same.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 12 they get a ballhawk on the outside. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Jordan Morgan in the 44th pick is fair value, right on his grade. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
No edge and no loss on Kris Jenkins in the 59th overall pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
A straight-up fair deal on Christian Mahogany at pick 84, value and slot in agreement. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
By-the-book stuff, Brenden Rice at pick No. 112 squarely in line with his ranking. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Khyree Jackson at No. 149 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
They paid sticker price for Layden Robinson in the 190th pick, and that is fine. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
A wild overpay on Taulia Tagovailoa in slot 233, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
