The Raiders treated their own grade as gospel and everyone else's as noise, spending pick 218 on Phillip Webb a full 104 spots early. More right than wrong, and a B to match.
Cam Ward gives the offense a face and a plan, and the grade leans heavily on whether he hits. Getting Fannin Jr. where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class.
They punted on wide receiver, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
Good work on the whole, with wide receiver the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 6 they get their quarterback of the future. A clean fit for the roster.
They barely believed it either: Nick Emmanwori still on the board at the Round 2 slot. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
A slide stopped in No. 68, with TreVeyon Henderson worth more than the price. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Harold Fannin Jr. in Round 3, Pick 9 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Denzel Burke slipping to the 107th overall pick is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
