Somehow the biggest item on the list survived the weekend. The Texans never addressed interior defensive lineman, and it is the kind of gap that lingers.
Running back was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. They came away with juice, if not much beef up front.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the interior defensive lineman spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 23 they get a home-run threat at receiver. Exactly the need they had to hit.
A clean, defensible pick in No. 58 with a little surplus value in Jonah Elliss. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
By-the-book stuff, Tykee Smith at slot 90 squarely in line with his ranking. A minor itch, scratched.
They took Ray Davis at par in pick No. 123, which is nothing to complain about. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Dallin Holker at Round 4, Pick 26 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
