Every other box got a look, but edge rusher did not. The Texans will head to camp with the same hole they walked in with. No fireworks, but a solid B-.
The Corum pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. The roster is better shaped than it was, with running back chief among the fixes.
Adding Marquise Copeland by trade rounds out the weekend beyond the rookies.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a lockdown presence outside. More want than need.
The board had cheaper options than Blake Corum at pick No. 58, and it noticed. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
They liked Jordan Travis enough to skip the value, taking him in Round 4, Pick 23. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
They jumped the gun on Beaux Limmer, taking him earlier than his grade liked. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
They went early on Andrew Coker in the 158th overall pick, and the value did not follow. The roster fit checks out.
Jaylan Ford at No. 163 is a conviction pick that outran the value. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
They took Demani Richardson at par in the 239th pick, which is nothing to complain about. A minor itch, scratched.
A conviction pick on Jordan Whittington at pick 247 that the board grades a round light. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
