The Tahj Washington pick is the one that will follow the Texans into the fall. They took him 105 spots ahead of his grade, and the board is not shy about saying so. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.

With interior defensive lineman, quarterback and other spots unsolved, spending premium capital on DT-EDGE is the choice that costs them. They will regret leaving interior defensive lineman for another day if the season turns on it.

On the needs board they went 5 of 8, with running back the one that mattered most. They squeezed a little extra out of every move they made.
