Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Texans were there to profit. Omar Speights, the No. 223 name on the board, should have been long gone before the 245th overall pick. Good, not great, and the B says as much.

The Smith pick reads as want over need, and the roster will feel it at edge rusher, interior defensive lineman and other spots. A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want.

The Jones reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. They squeezed a little extra out of every move they made.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
