Every other box got a look, but running back did not. The Texans will head to camp with the same hole they walked in with. No fireworks, but a solid B.
They banked enough surplus on Legette to cover a lot of smaller sins. Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 24 they get a difference-maker at receiver, outstanding value to boot. The biggest hole, addressed.
Cooper Beebe at pick No. 53 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Christian Haynes at Round 3, Pick 32 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
No drama and no debate, James Williams went about where he belonged in the 121st overall pick. A minor itch, scratched.
Tommy Eichenberg in slot 124 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
