You build a draft on nights like this. Javon Foster had no business being available in the 171st overall pick, and the Eagles did the only sane thing and turned in the card.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through wide receiver. They left with cornerback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 22 they get juice off the edge, outstanding value to boot. The biggest hole, addressed.
They robbed the room for Kool-Aid McKinstry here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Steal is underselling it; Quinyon Mitchell at the 53rd overall pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Cedric Gray at slot 120 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
A cornerback of that caliber at pick 161 is the definition of value, full stop. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Javon Foster at the 171st pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Tykee Smith slid further than he should have, and the Round 5 slot is lovely value for the safety. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
They paid sticker price for Garret Greenfield in pick No. 210, and that is fine. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
