The rest of the league will want that one back. Chase Lundt tumbling to the Raiders in the 214th overall pick is a gift they did not have to think twice about. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.
That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. They went 6 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 6 they get an every-down engine for the run game. A real need, handled.
They let Emeka Egbuka come to them and pounced at the 37th pick. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Trey Amos in slot 68 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Alfred Collins at the Round 3 slot is the proof. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
No edge and no loss on Will Howard in pick No. 107; it is a wash and a sensible one. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Lathan Ransom in the 144th overall pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A minor itch, scratched.
No drama and no debate, Dont'e Thornton Jr. went about where he belonged in No. 182. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Chase Lundt in pick 214 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Cobee Bryant at the Round 6 slot is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Trey Zuhn III in the 224th pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
