Thirty-one other rooms let Denzel Burke slide, and the Raiders were the ones holding the card at No. 144. Highway robbery. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through edge rusher. Jackson has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.
Cornerback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. The skill positions did well by the weekend.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 6 they get a go-to option on the outside. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Omarion Hampton at the 37th overall pick nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Jaxson Dart in pick 68. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Good price on Andrew Mukuba in No. 73, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Somehow Chris Paul Jr. was still sitting there in pick No. 107, and they pounced on premier linebacker value. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Steal is underselling it; Denzel Burke at the 144th pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
The board fumbled Nick Nash all the way to the Round 6 slot, and they scooped it up. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
They took Carson Vinson at par in Round 6, Pick 36, which is nothing to complain about. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
They went early on Cam Jackson in the Round 6 slot, and the value did not follow. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Woody Marks in No. 224 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
