The trade table was where it all came apart. The Vikings shipped out far more than they hauled back, and no amount of spin dresses up the bill. Hard to defend, and the D+ reflects that.
The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Getting Nubin where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class.
Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and quarterback is still a hole.
Pick-by-Pick
Good price on Dallas Turner in pick No. 17, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
In pick 19 they get a problem off the edge. The biggest hole, addressed.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Kamren Kinchens at the 42nd overall pick is the proof. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Tyler Nubin in the Round 2 slot should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Edgerrin Cooper at No. 75 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
