The value of the weekend has a name and a slot: Donovan Edwards, slot 130, roughly 22 picks past where he belonged. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B+.
The offensive lineman spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. The imported veterans give this class a floor the draft picks could not on their own.
They squeezed a little extra out of every move they made. The weekend tilted hard toward the defense.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
They paid sticker price for Jonah Elliss in the 42nd pick, and that is fine. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
A straight-up fair deal on Rod Moore at No. 72, value and slot in agreement. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Mike Sainristil in pick No. 108 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Good price on Spencer Rattler in the Round 4 slot, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Taking Donovan Edwards in the 130th overall pick is close to grand larceny; a running back that good had no business lasting this long. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
