You build a draft on nights like this. Christian Mahogany had no business being available in pick 104, and the Cardinals did the only sane thing and turned in the card. The bottom line is a respectable B.
That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Job largely done: wide receiver settled and 5 of 8 of the wish list covered. Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.
Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 4 they get a true top target. The biggest hole, addressed.
They read the board right and Dallas Turner was the payoff at slot 27. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Quinyon Mitchell at pick 35 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the cornerback. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Kingsley Suamataia at the 66th pick is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Cooper Beebe in the 71st overall pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Michael Hall Jr. in the Round 3 slot is fair value, right on his grade. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Christian Mahogany in pick No. 104 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
A clean, defensible pick in No. 133 with a little surplus value in Tommy Eichenberg. A need, and now a little less of one.
