Start where it matters. The Vikings took Bo Nix to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one.
Jacobs at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. The offensive lineman hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 20 they get a quarterback's worst nightmare, outstanding value to boot. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Bo Nix in pick No. 23 is fair value, right on his grade. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Caelen Carson in the 108th pick. It adds depth where they could use a little.
A clean, defensible pick in slot 129 with a little surplus value in James Williams. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
A quiet steal in the Round 5 slot: Luke McCaffrey for less than the market said. It fills a real need, too.
Dylan Laube at No. 167 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Kamal Hadden slipping to the 177th overall pick is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
Curtis Jacobs at Round 7, Pick 12 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A minor itch, scratched.
