The Cardinals spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Troy Fautanu, the No. 28 name on the board, in No. 66. A dependable weekend that grades out a B.
For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain. The Taylor III pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over.
They went 4 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 4th overall pick they get a go-to option on the outside. The biggest hole, addressed.
In pick 27 they get a disruptor off the edge at a price that makes it sweeter. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Nate Wiggins in Round 2, Pick 3 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
A top-tier offensive lineman at a bargain, Troy Fautanu in the Round 3 slot, plain and simple. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
A market-rate wide receiver, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Johnny Wilson. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.

Darius Robinson is a better player than the 133rd pick suggests; smart patience, rewarded. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
