The Eagles ran the phones like sharks, prying loose value on deal after deal until the ledger was lopsided.
That Belton pick is the receipt they will wave around later. For all the activity, interior defensive lineman went untouched, which is hard to explain.
Job largely done: cornerback settled and 6 of 9 of the wish list covered.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the interior defensive lineman spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 26 they get a double-digit-sack hope. The biggest hole, addressed.
The board had Tyler Booker higher than Round 2, Pick 25, and the offensive lineman fell to them anyway. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
They robbed the room for Earnest Greene III here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It fills a real need, too.
You do not let a safety like Rod Moore reach the 90th overall pick and blink. They did not. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Nic Anderson is a better player than No. 95 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Anthony Belton in the 121st pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A need, and now a little less of one.
Smael Mondon Jr. slid further than he should have, and slot 127 is lovely value for the linebacker. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Somehow Jaeden Roberts was still sitting there in Round 5, Pick 24, and they pounced on premier offensive lineman value. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
A top-tier edge rusher at a bargain, Jordan Burch in the 153rd overall pick, plain and simple. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Mason Taylor at pick 185 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Dorian Strong in pick No. 202 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
They did well to land Jason Henderson in the Round 7 slot, just ahead of his grade. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
Lathan Ransom at No. 217 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the safety. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
