There was a run on nobody at that position, and the Raiders started one anyway for Spencer Rattler, 42 picks ahead of schedule.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through tight end. The Rosemy-Jacksaint value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere.
Edge rusher is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but tight end.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 13 they get a ballhawk on the outside. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Cooper Beebe at Round 2, Pick 12 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Spencer Rattler at slot 77 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. The roster fit checks out.
A tidy little value on Braelon Allen in No. 112, a step better than break-even. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
They did well to land Tommy Eichenberg in the Round 5 slot, just ahead of his grade. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
A slide stopped in pick No. 208, with Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint worth more than the price. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
A tidy bit of business in Round 7, Pick 3, where Caedan Wallace graded well above the range. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Solomon Byrd in the 229th overall pick is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
