The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Vikings spent their marquee pick on Jayden Daniels, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.
A whole weekend of picks and safety is somehow still a want. Jones falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but safety.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 11 they get a franchise quarterback. The biggest hole, addressed.
In the Round 1 slot they get a bendy edge with upside, outstanding value to boot. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Elijah Jones at pick 108 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A minor itch, scratched.
Javon Foster slipping to Round 4, Pick 29 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Jarrian Jones in slot 157 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
By-the-book stuff, Khristian Boyd at No. 177 squarely in line with his ranking. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
No edge and no loss on Tahj Washington in the 189th pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
A reach on Keaton Bills in the 230th overall pick; the board had better options right there. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
The board had Jordan Magee higher than the 232nd overall pick, and the linebacker fell to them anyway. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
