The Vikings spent the pick that matters most on Bo Nix, and a roster that has been waiting on a passer can start to take shape. More right than wrong, and a B to match.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through safety. Limmer has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. They went 5 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
A straight-up fair deal on Bo Nix at Round 1, Pick 20, value and slot in agreement. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Javon Foster in the Round 2 slot is exactly on the number, no argument either way. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
A real head-scratcher, Beaux Limmer in pick No. 120 is miles ahead of his ranking. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Jaylan Ford in slot 157 is fair value, right on his grade. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
A market-rate edge rusher, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Ashton Gillotte. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
A premium they did not need to pay, Layden Robinson a notch or two before his time. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
No edge and no loss on Fabien Lovett in No. 179; it is a wash and a sensible one. It fills a real need, too.
Tyler Harrell at pick 241 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
