Some picks age like wine; Richard Jibunor at Round 7, Pick 7 will need to, sitting 122 spots clear of his grade.
Whatever Bo Nix becomes, the front office has tied its fortunes to the answer. Arnold at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. They will regret leaving safety for another day if the season turns on it.
The Solomon pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with safety, running back and other spots still on the board.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick-by-Pick
Bo Nix in slot 11 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Terrion Arnold in the Round 2 slot is a gift, value that borders on unfair. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
The eyebrow-raiser of the weekend. They went OLB-EDGE with Javon Solomon while clear needs at safety, running back and other spots sat open.
A tidy bit of business in the 130th pick, where Darius Robinson graded well above the range. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Good price on Kamal Hadden in Round 5, Pick 9, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint at pick 157. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
No drama and no debate, LaDarius Henderson went about where he belonged in Round 5, Pick 30. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Jordan Jefferson at No. 179 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
A big swing on Richard Jibunor at slot 227, well ahead of any board in the building. Where it fits the depth chart is the real question.
