The Vikings did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Christian Mahogany fell into the 119th overall pick. Little to argue with here, and the A says so.
The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. That safety hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The Vikings paired the rookies with proven help, Byron Jones leading the way.

Bottom line, they left the weekend a clearly better team, and they earned every bit of it.

A straight-up fair deal on Tyler Guyton at No. 39, value and slot in agreement. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
J.J. McCarthy at pick 42 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Christian Mahogany at the 119th pick is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Darius Robinson in pick No. 130 lands just on the right side of the ledger. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Circle this one: Kris Abrams-Draine at Round 5, Pick 12 is a fall that decides a draft. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
No drama and no debate, Jaylen Wright went about where he belonged in slot 160. The roster fit checks out.
Keith Randolph Jr. at the 165th overall pick is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the edge rusher. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
