Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Jaylen Reed got past him. The Eagles do not have to explain a thing at No. 234. It holds up to a second look, which is why it earns the A.
They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain.
Add it up and few war rooms did better this weekend, Malaki Starks and all.
Pick-by-Pick
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Malaki Starks at pick No. 43. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
A tidy little value on Tez Johnson in the Round 3 slot, a step better than break-even. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Ozzy Trapilo at pick 129 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It fills a real need, too.
Tommi Hill at the 166th pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Jaylen Reed in No. 234 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. The roster fit checks out.
Somehow Kyle Monangai was still sitting there in the 235th overall pick, and they pounced on premier running back value. A need, and now a little less of one.
Brant Kuithe in slot 255 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
