Of all the ways to open, the Eagles chose the head-scratcher, spending No. 111 on Junior Colson with quarterback still wide open. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B+.

That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The Trotter Jr. pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch.

The Colson reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. The dealing nudged the ledger their way without much fuss.
