The one they had to fix is still broken. The Eagles left edge rusher untouched, and that omission hangs over an otherwise reasonable haul. It nets out to a B, which feels about right.
Landing McMillan that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. Cornerback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. The back end got a real overhaul.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 22 they get an island corner. The biggest hole, addressed.
The board had Kalen King higher than the Round 2 slot, and the cornerback fell to them anyway. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
No edge and no loss on Jeremiah Trotter Jr. in Round 2, Pick 22; it is a wash and a sensible one. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
A quiet steal in the 97th overall pick: Jalen McMillan for less than the market said. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Jarrian Jones at pick 137 is money in the bank, a cornerback taken below his worth. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Jaylin Simpson slid further than he should have, and the 163rd pick is lovely value for the cornerback. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
They did well to land Kitan Oladapo in pick No. 172, just ahead of his grade. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Frank Gore Jr. in slot 178 lands just on the right side of the ledger. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
They paid sticker price for Zion Logue in the 243rd pick, and that is fine. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
