The value of the weekend has a name and a slot: Bhayshul Tuten, No. 214, roughly 63 picks past where he belonged.
Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. They came away with juice, if not much beef up front.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
Ashton Jeanty in slot 6 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Emeka Egbuka slid further than he should have, and pick 33 is lovely value for the wide receiver. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
By-the-book stuff, Jihaad Campbell at pick No. 37 squarely in line with his ranking. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Aireontae Ersery in No. 67 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Tate Ratledge at the Round 3 slot is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
TreVeyon Henderson in Round 3, Pick 30 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
The board fumbled Andrew Mukuba all the way to the 107th pick, and they scooped it up. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
They will replay Brashard Smith at the 144th overall pick for years; that is how good the value is. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
They robbed the room for Dillon Gabriel here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Taking Bhayshul Tuten in No. 214 is close to grand larceny; a running back that good had no business lasting this long. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
