The Raiders did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and DJ James fell into slot 112.
They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. The cost of the Travis reach is exactly the players who went right after him.
That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 13 they get a home-run threat at receiver, and a steal at that. The biggest hole, addressed.
They barely believed it either: DJ James still on the board at the 112th pick. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
They talked themselves into Jordan Travis at Round 5, Pick 12, and the board did not agree. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
No edge and no loss on Dylan Laube in the Round 5 slot; it is a wash and a sensible one. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
They robbed the room for Beau Brade here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Jaden Crumedy in slot 208 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Ty'Ron Hopper at pick 213 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Kamal Hadden in the 223rd overall pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Taking Delmar Glaze in slot 229 is close to grand larceny; an offensive lineman that good had no business lasting this long. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
