They finally answered the question that shadows every other one. Jayden Daniels is the Raiders' quarterback, full stop. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.
On value alone, McGlothern makes the weekend a net positive. Reaching for Vidal left real value on the table behind him. That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
The trade work was a quiet net positive.
In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 6th overall pick they get a long-term answer under center. A real need, handled.
A slide stopped in the Round 2 slot, with Tyler Guyton worth more than the price. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Max Melton at the 93rd pick is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Mason McCormick at Round 5, Pick 12 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Dwight McGlothern at No. 208 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Kimani Vidal in slot 229 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
