Thirty-one other rooms let Elic Ayomanor slide, and the Raiders were the ones holding the card at the Round 4 slot. Highway robbery. A dependable weekend that grades out a B.
The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend. That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. If Crawford pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 6 they get a featured back. A clean fit for the roster.
They let Nick Emmanwori come to them and pounced at the Round 2 slot. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
The board had cheaper options than Aireontae Ersery at the 37th pick, and it noticed. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Jaxson Dart in the 68th overall pick. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
They took Darien Porter at par in pick No. 73, which is nothing to complain about. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
A top-tier wide receiver at a bargain, Elic Ayomanor in slot 107, plain and simple. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
No edge and no loss on Oronde Gadsden II in pick 144; it is a wash and a sensible one. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
The board had Bhayshul Tuten higher than No. 182, and the running back fell to them anyway. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Steal is underselling it; Dont'e Thornton Jr. at No. 214 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
You do not let a wide receiver like KeAndre Lambert-Smith reach the 218th overall pick and blink. They did not. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Kitan Crawford in pick No. 224 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
