The Raiders cashed the board's mistake on McCord: C.

by [email protected] · 2025 NFL Draft · 11 picks · 8 steals · 2 reaches
Value B
Need B
Trades C-
Future D-

You could see the war room lean forward. Kyle McCord at the 174th pick is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did. The final tally is a middling C.

They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. Adding Caelen Carson by trade rounds out the weekend beyond the rookies. The cost of the Watts reach is exactly the players who went right after him.

The trades cost them a sliver of value they did not need to spend.

If Jahdae Barron and a couple of the gambles land, hindsight will be kinder than this grade.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.12 · Pick 12 · Will Campbell · OT · rank 11
In No. 12 they get a plug-and-play piece up front at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
R1.21 · Pick 21 · Jahdae Barron · CB · rank 13
In Round 1, Pick 21 they get an island corner, and a steal at that. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
R2.1 · Pick 33 · Jihaad Campbell · LB · rank 41
They paid a round early for Jihaad Campbell in the 33rd pick, more than the board wanted. A minor need, but a need all the same.
R2.5 · Pick 37 · Xavier Watts · S · rank 46
Xavier Watts at pick No. 37 is a conviction pick that outran the value. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
R2.12 · Pick 44 · Emeka Egbuka · WR · rank 25
They robbed the room for Emeka Egbuka here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
R3.4 · Pick 68 · Aireontae Ersery · OT · rank 48
They barely believed it either: Aireontae Ersery still on the board at the 68th overall pick. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
R3.12 · Pick 76 · TreVeyon Henderson · RB · rank 55
A running back of that caliber at slot 76 is the definition of value, full stop. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
R4.6 · Pick 108 · Jaylin Noel · WR · rank 96
Jaylin Noel at the Round 4 slot is money in the bank, a wide receiver taken below his worth. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
R5.5 · Pick 143 · Joshua Farmer · DT · rank 117
Joshua Farmer in the 143rd overall pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
R5.36 · Pick 174 · Kyle McCord · QB · rank 120
You do not let a quarterback like Kyle McCord reach the Round 5 slot and blink. They did not. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
R6.4 · Pick 180 · Raheim Sanders · RB · rank 146
Circle this one: Raheim Sanders at slot 180 is a fall that decides a draft. A need, and now a little less of one.
