The Eagles treated their own grade as gospel and everyone else's as noise, spending Round 7, Pick 23 on Tyler Harrell a full 106 spots early. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B-.
Leaving interior defensive lineman unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Job largely done: cornerback settled and 6 of 9 of the wish list covered.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 22 they get a ballhawk on the outside. Exactly the need they had to hit.
A reach on Adisa Isaac in the Round 2 slot; the board had better options right there. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
They paid sticker price for Ja'Lynn Polk in the 54th pick, and that is fine. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Zak Zinter in slot 97 lands just on the right side of the ledger. The roster fit checks out.
Braelon Allen at pick No. 137 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. A need, and now a little less of one.
They went early on Curtis Jacobs in the 163rd overall pick, and the value did not follow. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Trey Knox in No. 172 is fair value, right on his grade. It fills a real need, too.
They paid up for Andrew Raym at the 178th overall pick when waiting would have done the job. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Tyler Harrell at pick 243 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
