The Raiders went off the board in a big way for Antwaun Powell-Ryland, 61 picks early. Conviction is one thing; this is another.
They have staked the next five years on Jayden Daniels, which is the only story that really matters here. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through tight end.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the tight end spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a franchise quarterback. A clean fit for the roster.
Troy Fautanu slid further than he should have, and No. 44 is lovely value for the offensive lineman. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Ricky Pearsall at the 77th pick is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the wide receiver. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
A conviction pick on Ray Davis at slot 112 that the board grades a round light. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Jaylan Ford in the 150th overall pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A minor itch, scratched.
They reached a country mile for Antwaun Powell-Ryland at Round 6, Pick 15, and the board is aghast. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Value said wait; Storm Duck in the Round 7 slot says they were not listening. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
