It is the swing that defines the weekend: Jasheen Davis in the Round 7 slot, a good 80 spots before the room expected him.
That is a running back worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. The tight end hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the tight end spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 6 they get a weapon on the perimeter. Exactly the need they had to hit.
A safety of that caliber at pick 37 is the definition of value, full stop. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
A top-tier interior defensive lineman at a bargain, Kenneth Grant in the 47th pick, plain and simple. A need, and now a little less of one.
Jihaad Campbell at No. 73 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A minor itch, scratched.
They robbed the room for Dylan Sampson here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. The roster fit checks out.
Simeon Barrow Jr. at slot 194 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
By-the-book stuff, Miles Frazier at the 212th overall pick squarely in line with his ranking. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Davison Igbinosun in slot 216 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Max Brosmer well ahead of where he belonged. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
