The Raiders put a flag in the ground for Braden Fiske, 71 picks before anyone else would have, and the value took the hit.
For all the activity, wide receiver went untouched, which is hard to explain. Getting Hart where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. Edge rusher is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
Not a disaster, not a triumph, just a middling class.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 14 they get a cornerstone up front, a steep price for the projection. The biggest hole, addressed.
Jack Sawyer at the Round 2 slot is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
They liked Jackson Powers-Johnson enough to skip the value, taking him in No. 78. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
A conviction pick on Tommy Eichenberg at the 114th pick that the board grades a round light. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Mike Sainristil at pick No. 151 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. The roster reasoning here is anyone's guess.
Value with a capital V on Cam Hart in Round 6, Pick 17, a genuine coup. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
A wild overpay on Braden Fiske in pick No. 235, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
