You build a draft on nights like this. Dorian Singer had no business being available in pick No. 233, and the Raiders did the only sane thing and turned in the card.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through edge rusher. They left with cornerback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 12th overall pick they get a cornerstone up front. The biggest hole, addressed.
They paid sticker price for J.J. McCarthy in pick 44, and that is fine. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
A quiet steal in the 76th pick: Leonard Taylor III for less than the market said. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Tommy Eichenberg in slot 112 lands just on the right side of the ledger. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
A clean, defensible pick in pick No. 149 with a little surplus value in Isaiah Adams. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Jaylin Simpson in Round 6, Pick 15 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
They barely believed it either: Dorian Singer still on the board at No. 233. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
