They finally answered the question that shadows every other one. Jayden Daniels is the Raiders' quarterback, full stop. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.
The Hunt pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged. Leaving wide receiver unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a passer to set the clock by at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
They let Jordan Morgan come to them and pounced at the 48th pick. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
DJ James in the 112th overall pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Nothing to complain about; Mason McCormick went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Jalyx Hunt in pick 182 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Tylan Grable in slot 227 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Trey Taylor at pick No. 243 is money in the bank, a safety taken below his worth. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
