The search is over. The Raiders handed the keys to Jayden Daniels, and the whole operation now runs on his development. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.
On value alone, Jackson makes the weekend a net positive. The Smith pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with cornerback, running back and other spots still on the board.
For all the activity, cornerback went untouched, which is hard to explain. They squeezed a little extra out of every move they made.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but cornerback.
Pick-by-Pick
Jayden Daniels at No. 6 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Nothing to complain about; Darius Robinson went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Hard to square with the roster. With positions of obvious need still on the board, Maason Smith adds a DT-EDGE and leaves cornerback, running back and other spots untouched.
By-the-book stuff, Roger Rosengarten at the 147th pick squarely in line with his ranking. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Cedric Johnson in pick 207 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Garret Greenfield in Round 7, Pick 3. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Jha'Quan Jackson in slot 229 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
